Student Membership of AICSA

Why become a student member? So many reasons…

The majority of conveyancers in South Australia are members of the AICSA and are progressive and dynamic professionals who lead the way in the industry. The AICSA supports our membership in the pursuit of excellence both in conveyancing and in business ownership.

By becoming a member whilst studying you will be investing in your future career. Our most important function is to supply post-graduate professional development and our members rely on us to keep them informed and educated on the changes in legislation which impact on conveyancing.

Being a member of the peak body of your chosen profession automatically brings prestige. Membership of the AICSA is a must if you are serious about your future. Conveyancing is constantly evolving and to ensure you offer the best service to your future clients you must grow accordingly.

Application For Student Membership

If you are studying Conveyancing at TAFE you are eligible for student membership. For a minimal investment of $80.00 per annum (2019) you can become a member and enjoy the benefits of information, events and peer support. Download the application form from the link and become part of the conveyancing community today!

Note: Student members do not need to have the form Proposed and Seconded.

Benefits of Membership

We keep our members informed of any changes occurring in the industry through Legislative update alerts, magazines, bulletins and newsletters which revolve around Conveyancing issues.

As a Student member you will be welcome to attend our *standard monthly Professional Development events for the subsidised price of only $25-00 per event. Attending these events will give you a in depth look at subjects you will need to master once qualified and working in the industry. Attendance will also be a valuable add on to your resume, showing your willingness to go the extra mile. (*Terms and conditions apply, not all events have a student discounted rate).

Our employment register advertises positions available, and you are able to place an advert seeking a position free of charge.

Networking opportunities are available at Seminars, the annual Conference and Partner sponsored events.

By providing our members, including student members with the professional development, training, knowledge, information and references that they need, we ensure that the life of our members remains at the head of the pack.

Supplementary Studies

The AICSA offers a Practical Skills Certificate which is suitable for conveyancing students, newly qualified conveyancers and support staff . This course covers the practical application of skills required on a day to day basis in the office. By obtaining this certificate you will gain confidence in your abilities and have a valuable addition to your resume. Many of our members send their staff on this course as it makes them an invaluable member of their team, exposing them to many of the administrative tasks completed in a conveyancing transaction.

“In most modern conveyancing and legal practices there are non-conveyancer staff members performing conveyancing duties on a daily basis. The Practical Skills Course arms non-conveyancer staff members or newly qualified conveyancers with the knowledge and skill set to assist in conveyancing files with confidence. As a practitioner it is always comforting to know the person on the other side of the file has a good understanding of their duties. It is obvious and reassuring when you are dealing with someone who has attended this course, you know they will have a firm grasp of their responsibilities and the capability to manage them.”

Gemma Wallace, Registered Conveyancer

Please note that completion of this course is not a qualification to practise conveyancing. Please contact the office on 8359 2090 if you are interested in enrolling in the course.

Chelsea Hunt our Marketing, Communications & Membership Coordinator will answer all your membership questions.

We have a range of membership categories with the cost of membership calculated on a sliding scale based on the number of conveyancers employed by a conveyancing business.

Chelsea can explain to you the application process and if relevant send you an Application Form.
